Projection Lenses for the AK-R21
The basic element of this family of accessories is the Godox AK-R27 projection lens with a focal length of 65 mm. This lens tube works perfectly with the AK-R21 attachment, focusing the flash light and allowing a sharp slide image to be projected onto the background. Due to its design, the 65 mm lens provides a medium beam spread, which allows for maintaining a relatively large projected pattern with a moderate projection distance. However, Godox offers three focal length variants: 50 mm (AK-R24) – generating the widest beam, 65 mm (AK-R27) – the intermediate value, and 83 mm (AK-R23) – the narrowest beam of light, suitable for strong focusing and point-light effects. This allows the photographer to freely adjust light spread to the needs of the scene. For example, the wider 50 mm lens better illuminates a larger area, while the 83 mm lens generates a highly concentrated light beam, emphasizing a clear pattern. All three lenses are available in the store, allowing users to complete a set and experiment with different effects.
Slide Holder and Slide Sets
To use slides, a dedicated Godox AK-R26 holder (the so-called slide box) is required. This small accessory is mounted in the opening of the AK-R21 attachment, and this is where transparent graphic slides are placed. Thanks to the AK-R26, slides can be inserted and replaced quickly during a session. The holder does not include ready-made slides – these are purchased separately. For example, individual AK-S01–AK-S06 sets are available in our store, each containing 10 slides with different motifs. Together, six sets form a complete collection of 60 creative slides ready for projection. AK-S slide sets are ready-made “pattern libraries”: abstract backgrounds, geometric shapes, leaves, stars, and other motifs. After inserting the slide into the holder and aiming the flash, a clear image appears on the wall or shooting background – it can be sharp or slightly blurred, depending on the projection focus setting. As emphasized by the manufacturer, this provides nearly unlimited creative possibilities – the projected image can become the main compositional element or just a subtle addition, limited only by the photographer’s imagination. It is worth noting that the full set of 60 slides maximally expands the palette of effects, allowing perfect matching of patterns to a specific scene or photography style. Individual slide packs of 10 (AK-S01, AK-S02, etc.) are also offered, allowing users to choose only the motifs that best suit their needs.
Adapter for Rectangular-Head Flashes (AK-R25)
The AK-R21 attachment was designed primarily for flashes with standard round heads. However, if you use speedlights with a rectangular head (commonly found in the V860, TT685 series, or similar models from other brands), the Godox AK-R25 adapter is required. This element allows mechanical connection of a rectangular-head flash with the projection attachment. Thanks to the AK-R25, the AK-R21 attachment can be mounted on a speedlight and used with all its functions – including slide projection. This makes it possible to extend the usefulness of the system, allowing creative lighting effects even when using popular, compact flash units. The AK-R25 adapter and flashes are purchased separately, offering a high degree of configuration freedom.
