Godox LA150D and LA150Bi – For Portraits in the Studio and Beyond

If you shoot portraits in the studio and are looking for a light that doesn’t cost a fortune but performs like a piece of equipment twice as expensive, Godox Litemons lights should be your first choice. First of all, LA150D and LA150Bi – these two models are real gems for anyone who wants to level up. 150 watts might sound average, but it's just a number – in reality, this light is powerful enough to easily handle a classic portrait, light up the bust or a full-body shot, even in a larger room. LA150D is the version with a fixed color temperature of 5600K, which is classic daylight, perfect for maintaining natural skin tones. On the other hand, LA150Bi has an adjustable range from 2800K to 6500K, allowing you to model the mood of the photo – warm, cool, neutral – however you like. This is especially useful if you're working creatively, shooting videos, or often changing lighting setups. Thanks to this flexibility, you can instantly change the vibe of the photo, match the light to the background, or simply adjust to the conditions of the location.

Both lamps have smooth power adjustment, operate quietly, so they won’t disturb you while filming, and you can control them with the Godox Light app – a very convenient solution, especially when you have more than one light. The cherry on top is the Bowens mount compatibility, so you can add a softbox, a reflector, a beauty dish, or anything else and work just like with professional equipment. Litemons do not overheat, are lightweight, easy to pack and transport. Doing a session at a client’s place? You just throw two in your bag and go. No struggling with halogens, no wasting time setting up flashes. You turn them on, look, and shoot. It’s LED light, so no guessing – you see exactly what you’re doing before you press the shutter. Additionally, they come in sets with softboxes and tripods, so if you're just starting out, you don’t have to collect anything separately.

Godox LA200D and LA200Bi – More Light, More Possibilities

If you need even more power, take a look at LA200D and LA200Bi. These are 200-watt solutions that provide very strong light, so if you're planning full-body portraits, have a larger softbox, or are shooting group photos in the studio, then LA200 will be a better choice for this situation. Just like the 150 series, here too you can choose between the D version with a fixed color temperature (5600K) and the Bi version with an adjustable color temperature (2800K–6500K). In practice, this gives you even more control over the mood of the photos. You can go for warm, soft light for women or children’s photos, or use hard, cool light for more dramatic shots.

The lamps are still lightweight, still quiet, and still very easy to use. Everything works smoothly, and with the right reflector, you get such light intensity that you have to be careful not to blind your model. If someone says you can't make strong portraits with LEDs, they haven't worked with the LA200. This is equipment that handles serious jobs – from beauty shots to lookbooks – and still doesn’t drain power like a hungry monster. In commercial conditions, where every minute counts, reliability and speed are huge pluses. And again – everything is controlled via the app, and you can mount whatever modifiers you like. And the price? Still reasonable. An ideal solution for those who don’t want compromises but also don’t want to go into debt for equipment.

Godox LC30D – If Your "Model" is... an Object

Finally – if you’re not into portraits but shoot product photos, such as things for eBay or Vinted, or run an online store, Godox LC30D is a great solution. It’s a small, lightweight LED lamp that you can easily place on your desk, ideal for flat lays or photos of small objects. The fixed 5600K color temperature provides natural daylight, which beautifully renders colors.

LC30D is a mini-tank: it looks unassuming but shines evenly, strongly, and stably. It’s great for product photography, where simplicity and repeatability are key. You don’t need much space, you don’t fiddle with flashes, and the result is immediately visible. We currently have promotions on sets containing this lamp and the necessary accessories.

What Does the Professional Say?

When we say “studio photography,” most people immediately picture a powerful flash – classic flash lamps, reflectors, softboxes, synchronizers. But times are changing. Thanks to LED technology, we now have access to small yet very powerful and precise continuous light sources. We asked portrait photographer Stanisław Surman – who works exclusively with flash lamps – to test the Litemons in his work environment. The result? - "It turned out I was worrying for nothing. Litemons is truly a strong contender in a compact body. After several sessions, I can confidently say: this device meets all my expectations. Working with it is just pleasant – I quickly forget it’s ‘just’ LED because the end result always surprises me. Two knobs, one for power, the other for temperature – it couldn’t be simpler. Control via the app on the phone? Fantastic, especially when working with multiple lights." – commented portrait photographer Stanisław Surman.
